What tire sizes are these? (bought a fork :) )

Have you modified your aircraft? STC? STOL Kit? Major rebuild from just a data plate?

Re: What tire sizes are these? (bought a fork :) )

In 2001 I bought a 206 fork that that had the wheel and a 700x6 installed. Forgot what make a ply rating it had but there was just enough sidewall clearance to slide a piece of bologna between the tire sidewall and the fork. I have been told that some makes of tire and/or ply rating is wider than others. You better make dang sure you get it right.

I still think that a 600x6 in front and 700x6 on the mains with good piloting is plenty good. I have flown with you and you do a good job.

Larger tires will give more flotation and that would be better in sand or mud

Thanks Tim for helping me locate a fork :)

Looking forward to the larger tires.

Got the fork already and I will send it to be powder coated so paint lasts a long time.
Ordered 7.00 x 6 for the front and 8.00 x 6 for the mains.

How close of a fit is it safe to have with the 7.00 x 6 and front fork?

Its is a 182 heavy duty fork.

Is it this Image

Early 206, HD 182, HD 172 and early 310 fork are basically the same. A piece of bent aluminum not a casting.

If you have the fork Tim shows in his pic, there is very little clearance with some 7.00 x 6 tires. I had a Specialty (McCreary) Air Trac (the rounded profile one) that I had to swap out for the Air Hawk (squared profile) to get rid of rubbing issues when the tire deflected inside the fork.

So I am confused. Did the round or the square give more clearance.

It is a bit different, the linkage attaches directly to the heavy duty fork

Rounded = rubbing
Square profile = adequate clearance

Just be aware you may have to play around with different brands or models to get a 7.00 to fit in your fork.
