Where did you fly today?

Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

Re: Where did you fly today?

Not a very exciting day, but did learn a bunch messing with leaning and various power settings. 19in, 2000 rpm, and and around 7 gph was my favorite of the day.

Sunset flight before the wind hits us. Air-scouting the Giant Gap kayak run...worked great till I turned around and got the sun in my eyes.

Re: Where did you fly today?

Finally headed out for some off field landings. Landed at Cedar Mountain then headed over to Mexican Mountain but didn't descend and land. I'm still on the learning curve and it didn't look dry. So, I kept myself out of trouble and headed to Green River. I snapped this pick looking back at the north end of the San Rafael Swell. Great day to fly in Utah.

Re: Where did you fly today?

Finally got a break in the weather. Flew over to Madras just to check out the area. Madras has the "Best FBO Ever!!!". Everyone there is super nice and the place is decked out. http://www.bergair.com/

Afterwards, flew over to Mulino to see if anyone had opened a new restaurant. Good news, everyone! There is a restaurant again. It's a mexican place now. The food is good, the prices are great, and the gal at the counter said that Pilots get an extra 20% off. (which feels like yer robbing the joint). Check them out.

Apparently there are two parachute operators in the area now. The drop zone is where the taxiway to the old restaurant used to be. I don't know if they'll mow a path around it when the ground dries out more or not. It's a short walk from the tiedowns regardless.

Re: Where did you fly today?

after playing with the Superstol, I want back up with my mate, a fellow Storch driver. He got some shots of me so I finally got some shots of my new toy in action!

Nothing quite like flying down the runway at 17 knots :D

Headed to St. George for lunch. Snapped this with the iPhone while passing by Kolob Canyon on the way down.

Flew to Bullfrog U07 today. Talk about short and sweet :P . Helped a buddy work on his houseboat, fed some ducks and dreamed about this summer at Lake Powell.
