WTB: Aviation Base Station Radio

Anybody have one cluttering up their hangar? I'd like something cool, maybe even with cable and antenna. I may end up just hooking up a handheld but I'd love something more substantial.

Cheers,

May be worth talking to an avionics shop if you are friends with one. I bought an Icom base station for an old A200 I had on the shelf for pennies on the dollar. Added an antenna on the lower corner of my shop roof and am amazed at the range it has.

Re: WTB: Aviation Base Station Radio

Kinda silly that Icom is so proud of the A120 at $1000. On the surface it doesn't seem like that much radio but it's 2-3x the price of HF or 2m radios in the same size/format.

Best bet is probably an older beefier handheld like the A3 with a speaker mic plugged in and connected to an external antenna. Mount it to the wall like an old telephone.

Yeah, but they know who is buying them. Airports, FBOs, 141 flight schools. Buyers with a budget, not on a budget lol.

Re: WTB: Aviation Base Station Radio

I'm aware of the following for sale, a new Icom IC-A110 base VHF radio with AC power supply and programming with both 8.33k and 25k channel steps.

I have PM'd you the details.
