That was especially interesting as my dad was a 22 year old Sargent in the Infantry with the Seventh Army. In April of 1945 they joined up with the Third army to cross the Rhine . The scenes of the war torn towns and the people really put things in context for me.

One letter he wrote in May 1945 said "I was awfully proud to see those 47's..."
