Here's an excellent image of what water does in tubing. This is a horizontal stab from an 8GCBC that was recovered in 2010... not very many years for this kind of corrosion. Tail post was also broken off due to rust. Really makes me question the work done in '10... also and example of why you should get prebuys done on aircraft. May look nice if you don't know what to look for, but someone with lots of experience with the type should catch some of this stuff.

2008 ECA, thought zinc chromate or an epoxy primer would have done better. Lived outside, but still...

That is a 13 year old plane! That changes how I feel about tube and fabric in the PNW.

That is a 13 year old plane! That changes how I feel about tube and fabric in the PNW.
My pictures are from a plane in Ontario. Definitely eye opening.
