2 fatal accidents during bush fires

a very sad time over here for 2 familys of heros. you may or may not be aware but its our bush fire season over here, and a large portion of eastern Australia is in a blaze. To look for a positive in all this, atleast there has only been 2 fatals to date and hopefully we will see no more. the sad news is both these fatals have been pilots risking there lives to save others. the first was an ex fir fighter, volunteering his services to fly spare parts to the helicopters went missing and has been found to be a fatal. the second only today being a airtractor that suffered a wing structure failure during bombing exercise's.

a truly truly sad time for these mens families and the fire firefighting community at large. my thoughts are with those heros, there familys, and everyone effect by this and i hope thee prove to be the last of the fatals this season.

It was on the BBC online news this morning.

Godspeed to them and their families.

correction, the aircraft that suffered the wing failure was in actual fact a dromander, not an airtractor, that it really makes a squat of difference.

Very sad. Whether in the air or on the ground, woodland firefighters have a very dangerous occupation. Prayers for their survivors and that the Aussie fires will be contained soon.
