Re: 2011 Graham Fly-In :: Come hear tall tales from Bushy.

Anyone from the SE PA area going to this ? I'm not gonna rent a spam can this year but will split some fuel if anyone needs a competent co-pilot. :P  Just make sure you are one yourself. :P Shoot me an email if you're in my general area. Closest airport to me is KOQN. If you watch Swingle's videos, I can be seen in "Hanna-Barbarian" with the Patrol hat. Ed.

I can vouch for him. He packs light and doesn't stink too bad.

I met a fella at the fly-in with an S7 from Philly last year named Temos. -Lost your business card after an incident with a washing machine. Are you on here? You could kill two birds with one stone and convince this boy to build one over the state of PA.

BREAKING NEWS - JUST IN.
We now have a new fly-out destination for those wanting to shoot up things. Jeff Smith is going to hold his annual "Shoot What You Bring" party Oct 1st. He has a 1000ft strip just 15 miles from Graham Field. For those without weapons, he says there will be plenty of guns to try and lots of ammo and he always has the Tanerite exploding targets. This video was from a couple years ago.

I would love to join you guys in West Virginia but I don't think my skills or the 172 I'm flying would be up to it.

Tyler,

Don't give up, that 172 would do fine at most all of those places, except for that meadow with the tall weeds and maybe the "Paul Harvey" 1000 ft one way. Hales landing is full of 172 type planes and it will be used as an overnight and as a base camp to return to.

Our goal is to make these stops so that everyone can do them. If the crazy's want to hit a few strip mines in between, they would be T&G's and maybe a photo op, but no long stays.

Re: 2011 Graham Fly-In :: Come hear tall tales from Bushy.

Oh boy.... For the Ohio to Tennessee transition trip, we have the green light to land at the private Island Strip in West Virginia. But we have to call first. It would be a neat camping spot, but no rest rooms or showers.

I just talked to O.W. Meadows (Jr.). He goes by just Junior. He told me that the abandoned looking orange J-3 might be for sale too? He said it is an 85 hp and is in storage up on blocks. jg

Nick, I think we will? (That same place Carroll County (TSO)). But there is another neat place north of here too, that we will use for one meal stop. Keep in touch with that, as now everything is fluid and might change.

For those of you who are wanting to try the dark side of Ohio, here are some preview peeks of some of our Ohio strips. You will not find info on these on the AirNav internet sites. These old Swingle videos show them as we "discovered" them.

Hey John;
Looking forward to the trip and the follow on to TN the long way around.
I will be arriving sometime on Saturday...
What is the field frequency we will be using for the flyin?
Just for fun, what charts are needed (ie Detroit, or Cinci?)

Pokette, Use 122.9 at the airport. The rest of the time we will be on 123.45 You will need both Cincinnati and Detroit for charts

Tyler, A bunch of them will go to Carroll County (TSO) for breakfast and should be there then. Bad thing is it is 60 miles on east of me. After that, they have a grass strip tour winding their way back.

I will be at my place along with a lot of other arriving planes, if you want to come here direct?
