2017 in Review

Had a few hours, so decided to put together a year in review video. Includes flying in USA, Mexico and Germany. Flat engines. Round engines. Aerbats. It was a fun year!!!

What did you do?

Interesting video. I flew with several BCP members: CFOT, Blackwater, Tangowad, MsPirate, and some others I think. Getting a little senile.

Bought and learned to fly (still learning) my Maule MX7. Waiting for it to snow for my first ski experience. Good times!

Re: 2017 in Review

Flew less this year than any year since owning a airplane...maybe 60 or 70 hours. All our energy and money went into buying a house and moving, and now my peak interest is road maintenance and snow plowing. Never thought I'd enjoy running a York Rake or snow plow as much as flying, but here we are.

This is just the top half of the driveway...

Home port airshow @ KWJF.
Annual.
Solo CC.
Columbia.
Reno.
El Mirage.
Palm Springs.

Not necessarily in that order.

Good summary video Rich. I've got 140.1 hours on my MX 7-180C this year. No summary video yet, but highlights included Oshkosh, the eclipse, lots of flights to see my mom, a few trips to the beach and lots of hops to the San Juan Islands to watch whales from the air. I'm all smiles this year!

Cool video! I think my next door neighbor used to own the B-18 at 2:25 in the video.

I'm curious as to location as well.
I'm thinking that far up on the mountain, you must be off the grid.
Of course, that means different things to different people-- to me, it means off the electrical grid.
Do you use a generator & batteries, solar, propane lights and appliances, or some combination of all of the above?

Re: 2017 in Review

It was an epic year.
- Took delivery of my '63 182 and watched it transformed with a Pponk, MT, and big tires
- Finished my PPL
- Lots of mountain flying, couple trips here and there.
- Did my first ever beach landing, otherwise mostly on-airport stuff
- Flew about 70 hours before I fell into the same trap as Hammer, bought a lake house and spent a ton of time fixing it up.
- Amphibs scheduled to go on just before or just after Christmas
