That airplane still has the same barn brush paint job 20 years later!

Wish Hoser the Wonder Dog was still around.

Re: Throwback Thursday

Found this picture of my Grandpa this weekend. This is the man responsible for my addiction. He was my best friend and taught me a lot. Lot of hours with him as kid. This picture is in the '80s with his friend's c-180

Instant flashback to the time by buddy and I were out riding in the desert - him on his brand-new Honda 250 Elsinore, and me on his old, beat-up 125 Elsinore. He was ahead of me, and jumped straight off the side of a "wash"... that turned out to be almost 30' deep. Broke the frame of the Honda, along with his jaw when he hit the brace atop the handlebars. Also caused some traumatic and painful damage (though non-permanent) to his privates and groin area... Had a very painful ride (on the back of the 125) back to the closest hospital.

Needless to say, I did NOT follow him over the side - I don't jump off anything without inspecting the landing zone first... He used to call me "Chicken" all the time - not after that incident!

DonC,

Those last Photos would make good shots for the Cover of a Book... "SLED TALES"!
(hint hint)

JP256 -- had one of those 250 Elsinores back in the day; one damn rugged 'sickle! I rode it all over the CO Rockies until I got an '85 XR 350 with the 6 speed gearbox... last bike I rode.

Just a reminder that while threads like this are fun, they should be on-topic flying/personal aviation only, per the recent policy change.

I spent 9 months on the ship in the middle, USS Sacramento, and 800 hours in the Helo that took the picture, it was rather personal to me at the time. 8) Just ribbing u Z I will behave....
