I hope the WX improves and you guys have a blast!

Sounds like a very worth it "sacrifice". Congratulations on the CFI.

Kurt

We are missing both of you!

Kurt, Jim Mathis says hello! Zane, AKGreg, Halestorm and I had breakfast with him (and others!) this morning.

Excellent! Jim is a great guy! Wish I could be there, short call reserve this weekend, oh well....

Have fun everyone!

Thanks, Phil!

It was great meeting you and your lovely girlfriend. As always, this visit was waaaay too short. I’ll be making plans for next year that involve a longer stay, hopefully with an airplane! Your strip will be a mandatory stop on the way, for sure!

Looking at the hat you gave me, too - as you said, Good trade! Good trade.

Good show, only spent $1000 dollars or so. Good to see/meet everyone, surprisingly enough no hangover on Saturday or Sunday......and we closed the bar both nights. Headed back Sunday night and was back at work Monday morning with the first revenue trips of the 2018 season.

Wes, I'm embarrassed I forgot to get your contact info while we were hanging out - I am hoping to throw some business your way! It was great meeting you and hearing your story. I am really keen to get down there to take a bear-watching trip now!

So who is lingering for a week and going to Valdez? I'll be hanging out with my bud Bobby, camping under an orange 170.

That’s good, the wing will help keep the snow off of the tent. [emoji1303]

It was great to meet everyone at the Lakefront! My wife and I had a great first trip to AK! We toured the Airframes Alaska/Bushwheel factory, Talkeetna Air Taxi, K2 Aviation, several local airports, and put about 700 miles on the rental. To top it off, I got alittle Supercub time with a good Buddy of mine! I’ll be back sooner than later!

I am going to fly the cub over at low tide tomorrow and drive the 5th wheel over on Fri. Last weekend weather forecast for Anchorage was rain, Look what we got!! Weather in Valdez is almost always better than predicted.

There is plenty of runway for your cub, even at high tide in Valdez...

Ya that damm thing looks long but!! Few years back I was coming in and ASOS called for landing toward the water. Base and final felt strange, as I looked at the sock on the way by I had about 20 on the tail. I got the mains on the ground but going to fast had to jump over the lights at midfield and exit at other end. Guy behind me ground looped. Turns out both ends of the runway had socks pointing to the middle. So for me low tide it is now my backup. #-o

Despite reports to the contrary snow is 1/2 way up mountain and runway is clear and dry. Some snow berms next to fence but lots of camping space on the gravel.
