I take it the IA seminars are probably cancelled 'cause of the virus from a far eastern country. Anyone run across any interesting Zoom based substitutes? I see there was one a week or so ago put on by Concorde; I saw the announcement too late. darn.

Here’s one, not all the 8 hours needed but a start and it’s virtual.
https://wisconsindot.gov/Documents/doin ... 1amtia.pdfIf you Google virtual IA renewal you’ll find others.
I did the Concorde IA renewal. I didn’t have to but I ended up doing all three sessions because the speakers and information presented was worthwhile.
I hope the FAA goes forward with this format post Covid.
Cheers,
Dave

If you're concerned about viruses from China, I'd recommend not using Zoom.
I work for a cybersecurity advisory company, and we banned Zoom years ago. It was rife with vulnerabilities, and their handling of your personal data is suspect. Probably ok for most people but if you work in any kind of industry with proprietary engineering or trade secrets, I'd avoid it.

Montana Aeronautics is doing theirs by zoom this year, and still want $50. ..... I put the notice in file 13 (garbage). I'll use Gleim again. I'd rater do a little face to face with the feds, and other mechanics, and I do have enough annuals/majors, but I do kind of like the Gleim format.

Yeah, I used Gleim last year after the FAA cancelled their annual seminar at the last minute.

Reno FSDO emailed me today that Concorde Batteries is sponsoring another free seminar for March 19-21.
This was also announced on General Aviation News website.
I participated in last week’s event (along with 1500 others I understand) and it was not much of an ordeal. Just two days, with four 50 minute sessions each day (8am-Noon PST). They used gotomeeting which worked well but you need their app or website. The presenters were folks like Vern Rodgers of Cleveland Brakes and the usual reps from Champion, Tempest, etc.
This week I was emailed FAA Wings credit and proof to, I assume, email the FSDO, unless they have a group sign off at Stead like last time.
