206 Airglass tow bar
Avionics, airplane covers, tires, handheld radios, GPS receivers, wireless Wx uplink...any product related to backcountry aircraft and flying.
Does anybody know if there is a tow bar that would work, without modification, on an Airglass nose fork for a 206? Tire size is 8.50. The normal Cessna tow bar won't work unless I modify the fork installation with a longer bolt and spacers or something. Thanks all BCP's!

My Cessna towbar works fine on the through bolt that is at the bottom of the strut. I also had some pieces machined out of nylon for the axle bolt that work with my gas tug. I can send you dimensions if you want. I had mine made about 3/32" smaller than the ID of the buckets that hold the axle in place on the Landes and they work fine. PM me if you have any questions.

You're never too old to learn something stupid.
I recently bought a new tow bar through Pilot Mall called a "Stow Bar"--http://www.pilotmall.com/images/uploads/9305_7421_large.JPG
I modified it a little, with electrical tape wrapped around the main bars and the handle because the aluminum got my hands pretty dirty. I'm adding a small bungy cord, to make it easier to clamp it to the nose strut. It's available configured for just about any nose gear. I like it because it stows as well as the stock Cessna towbar, it's much longer for getting out from under the cowl, and it makes it a lot easier to back the airplane by hand. I've only had it a couple of months, but so far, so good. It seems to be very well made, but only time will tell if it will last like the simple Cessna stock tow bar.

Try Bogert Aviation. Their
Bogi Bars are well made and come in quite a range of styles. (Alaskan Bushwheel carries a couple of the Tailwheel versions)

My 206 with landis fork has the studs on both sides of the block, same as 150 or 172. Regular towbar works fine. I have a small collapsible towbar I carry in baggage however, when using the tug, a larger towbar is used that attaches at the axle.

This is my homemade towbar for my Citabria...would not be the same as for your 206 but it might give you some ideas. I looked at a lot of commercially built bars but the quality and price were not what I wanted so I built this.

The faster I go , the farther behind I get.
Thanks to all for suggestions. I did discover that a Cessna style tow bar, as for a 172, works perfect on the nut and bolt that pass through the gear. I hadn't thought it would work because the bolt side just doesn't stick out very far but I now have probably an accumulated mile of dragging the monster in and out of the hangar and haven't had it slip and land me on my back side yet!

That's one of the features I like about my new tow bar--it has a knob to tighten once it's in place, which keeps it from popping off. But still the best feature is that it is long enough to get me out from under the cowl and the arc of the prop, while collapsing to smaller than the standard Cessna tow bar collapses.

I definitely like your design. Next time I have some shop time I think I'm going to to take this picture and reverse engineer a copy of your most excellent work!
I'm thinking too, if I were to put a Maule tail wheel where you have the caster wheel on your towbar could I then pretend the six isn't a weenie wheel?
