210-5 lands on Turbo Beaver at PAWS

Geesh. The NTSB report will be an interesting read on this one. Glad no one was hurt.

Looks like a 205 or P206, those tires are too big for a 210.

Re: 210 lands on Beaver at PAWS

EDIT....

Ran the N Number, it's a 205, a 1962 Cessna 210-5, hence the report of being a 210. It is, but it ain't.

Re: 210-5 lands on Turbo Beaver at PAWS

The news must have got it wrong when they looked up the N number because the 205 shares the same type certificate as the early 210, it's listed as a 210-5.

The 205 was the marketing name. As Rob said, it's technically a 210-5...a fixed gear late '62-64 210 with wing struts.

Which is what I posted, and everyone is all over the model number and not into the actual accident apparently!

That'll buff out! :)

Seriously, if the dollars are there to do it, good bet that both airplanes can be made airworthy again. It's dollars, not damage, which seems to make the difference.

I too am glad that no one was hurt.

Geese...

If there's two busted planes and a squad car with lights a blazing on the runway, do not land on it.

Re: 210-5 lands on Turbo Beaver at PAWS

One plane was flying the correct right traffic pattern, the other was flying left traffic. Look at a chart....a runway with right traffic is depicted with a "RP 4", giving the runway number that is using right traffic.

So you have a flight instructor, and more than likely a Part 135 pilot....one of whom was not flying the proper traffic pattern. Hopefully, there will be certificate action for whomever that was.

While I'm glad to hear that no one was seriously injured, it pains me to see broken airplanes on the Runway!
