OK then: I am headed to Madras to do a house check, lunch, maybe get my new oil cooler lines on and maybe Chukar Flats. Meet Scott in Hood River and show him how to post a picture. Call if you want to join the formation.

Re: 12-22-2011 Flying Anyone??

Rob caught me at the mall with the wife shopping this morning. He wanted me to fly to Madras with him. I would of loved to but he had to go soon and I wasn't able. Besides Aero Acres was still fogged in at the time. Please don't stop asking Rob, because I love to go. I am missing my bird that is 400 miles away.

Heck Rob we were wheels up at 7 AM on our way to McCall for...you know...the Pancake House Breakfast. We had a Scout and my "real fast" 170. What a day to fly!!! On our way home we visited Pittsburg and wished we'd brought our dogs and shotguns. McCall was minus 5...but sunny. Didn't see anyone else in the Canyon, must of been ahead of the fisherman. Next time head over this way and we'll visit in Hell's Canyon.

Sounds like a fun time Scott/Rob.

I'm heading out to the hangar tomorrow, so if anyone in the Denver area wants to swing by, let me know. Not sure if the cold or 10" of snow is going to stop me, but I'm going to go out and have a look see.

Thanks for the invite Bill. I will do that. I know James would like to meet in the Canyon. I know a place there that is in need of a casron drop. I second your thoughts, What a Day!!

Re: 12-22-2011 Flying Anyone??

I agree it was a great day. I arrived at Big Bar about 1:30pm. It was about 58 degrees and sunny. I casted a few times and then wrapped things up about 3:00pm and hightailed it back to Orofino. Got back about 3:45pm and the shadows were so dark in the Orofino canyon that it was difficult to see the grass landing area. Beautiful weather but very short days. Let me know if you would like to meet in the canyon. It is my winter haunt and I even plan to camp a few times and hike around the area.

Hey Paul: that would be fun. If we can make it happen all the better. I have no interest in setting dates and dealing with crap wx. I am for sun comes out and forecast is good for 2-3 days then we drop what we are doing and go. I'll usually drop work to fly when the sun comes out.

Merry Christmas...Rob

All the presents are wrapped. Dinner with the family at 5. The Maule is gassed. The sun is out. I think I got time to head to the airport for a quick rip around the hood.

Re: 12-24-2011 Flying Anyone??

Theresa and I took Aero up for a flight this afternoon. The air was perfectly calm. Almost never happens here in the Hood. Image

Luckily Aero doesn't seem to be bothered by flight at all (even uncoordinated flight :? ) What a great day to fly!
