9th Annual Bacon Strip Ranch Fly-in & Camp out Oct 10-11

John Bacon wanted me to pass on the invite to his 9th Annual Fly-In this October 10-11th. Check out the posts from the past few years for more info.

It was a real hoot last year with the debut of the new "Johnny B's" bar, lot's of BBQ'd food and a deluxe fireworks show Saturday night.

The Swedish bikini team probably won't be there this year, but you just might see some unusual aircraft.

John says he'll update his facebook page soon.

Mojave Ho!

If your airport is more than ~10 miles from the center of the ~30 mile ring (aka outer ring), you can file a flight plan, get a squawk and go about your business with no interruption. If you are inside the inner ring, then no-go of course.

Operating Restrictions and Requirements
B. For operations within the airspace between the 8/9/10 nmr and 30 nmr area(s) listed above, known as the outer ring(s): All aircraft operating within the outer ring(s) listed above are limited to aircraft arriving or departing local airfields, and workload permitting, ATC may authorize transit operations. Aircraft may not loiter. All aircraft must be on an active IFR or VFR flight plan with a discrete code assigned by an air traffic control (ATC) facility. Aircraft must be squawking the discrete code prior to departure and at all times while in the TFR and must remain in two-way radio communications with ATC.

The times for the San Diego area TFR's don't make any sense. Per skyvector.com, the big one goes til 10/12 0030Z (sunday 530pm). Three of the smaller TFR's go til then, or earlier, only the northern-most small TFR goes later-- til 10/12 2030Z (Monday 130pm). ???
