a 25 year journey ends and a new one begins

On Friday, July 13th, I passed my private single engine land oral and check ride. I never imagined that I would ever be where I am today. What started as a geeky teenagers dream so long ago has come true. I have no idea what tomorrow hold but, learning to fly has made a tremendous impact on my life. If I live another 50 years and never pilot another aircraft I will still consider my self lucky.

I've really enjoyed the videos and photographs that you folks post. It has helped me work through some of the low points of my journey.

Cheers,

David

Congrats! Welcome to the club of all of us who are still students, because it truly is a license to learn. When I first heard that in Anchorage from my DE back in February of 1973, I thought, "yeah, sure, but if I get busy with my IR and commercial, pretty soon I'll know all there is to know about flying." Wrong! I'm still learning, and so are all of the other members of this august society known as certificated pilots.

Way to go Dave,
Like a lot of us it started with a dream as a child. I rember seeing gliders flying over when I was a
kid. I would lay down in a field and wounder what are they doing as they flew over head.
Congrats Dave and have a great time flying. =D>

Welcome to the club Dave.....First ride in airplane a DC-3 from Fargo to Msp when I joined the Navy. Four years riding in the back of Search and Rescue Helicopters looking up front convinced me I could do that  Loan from Mom for private lic and GI Bill for Commercial. Headed to Alaska with 250 hrs TT and $250 bucks in pocket on arrival (including wife and 5 month old baby  ) 30 years later sold Air Taxi ...4 Beavers and 3 Cessna's all on floats and retired to Idaho.

You can take it as far as you want  Have a good trip............
