A great local obituary with an Alaskan tie in

Yes, I read the local obituary notices, more so the last few years  , them and the police logs are the main reason I continue to subscribe to the local rag. This one is a hoot, with a surprising Alaska connection. She looked like a good time, even in her 90's!

It will be interesting to see how well the local Palo Alto Weekly does with such a neat person.
Course it may take them two weeks to get it. Channing House is about a mile up the road from me.
Couple of the residents are in a local adult ed writing class. Hope to get back in class this quarter. Some of us call it the "Blue Card Writers Club." Fortunately I do not need a blue card yet.

We all tend to read more obits as we get older--definitely one of the reasons we get the Coloradoan, too, and why I read the Laramie Boomerang online. Some are dreadfully boring, and probably because the dearly departed led a boring life. Sounds like Maxine led a good life, if "good" is measured in variances--and of course, she was a pilot!
