Its important that we all learn from my loss...hopefully next time someone else's baby will come home...I hope and pray that no other family or father has to endure what I have...my life will never be the same..I miss her badly but we have the opportunity to help others If this saves one life in the future then my family will not have died in vain.

I'm also very sorry about the tragic loss of your family.

Hopefully, with the the wider acceptance of tracking devices like Spot, and the newer more reliable InReach, the search part of SAR job will no longer be a factor and more lives will be saved.

That's how I've felt about my son's death in his Super Cub ... I wanted other pilots to stop, look, listen and learn from his accident so that at least some other family would not have to endure the pain that we are experiencing. Hopefully, lessons will be learned from this tragedy and lives will be spared in the future.

RIP, little Shyann.

The TFR's are an absolute joke too, it's not like they are cleaning up a crash site of a stealth bomber that has national security issues... To pull assets because someone wants to do a ground search on their own is outright lunacy.... This country needs alot more transparency and alot less " my dick is bigger then yours" administration... IMHO.....

Amen. Here's another TFR: http://tfr.faa.gov/save_pages/detail_3_2501.html Disgusting.

Re: A MISSING AIRPLANE BETWEEN FILLMORE UT AND GILLETTE WY

Why not call the controlling agency of the TFR, or the Incident Commander (local sheriff), and suggest a reduced ceiling on the TFR. Allows non-trained SAR volunteers to fly over the area, and not trade paint with the SAR birds.

Or, comply with the the CFR, and put a county-mountie in your bird, a news chick on the wing, or get an approval from the IC.

What's it take to be "properly accredited' in this day and age of biased journalism? Does a blogger count?

I hate seeing unused assets in any SAR event.

be part of the solution, otherwise you're just noise...

Yup... I've been looking at this big red circle on the Garmin 396 every day now down in the Sweetwaters. Too bad those of us who regularly crawl that mountain range on the ground and in the air, and know every nook and cranny, aren't allowed in to search.

I heard today that Lyon County SO found the wreckage . . . that from a friend who is on CAP.

That TFR was also blocking the standard SE bound departure for gliders leaving Minden.

Well.... At least they reduced the size of the TFR from 28 nm to 8 nm...
