A noob's hand-held radio question
Avionics, airplane covers, tires, handheld radios, GPS receivers, wireless Wx uplink...any product related to backcountry aircraft and flying.
I used a Narco Superhomer in a ten dollar an hour wet Tri-Pacer that had five transmit crystals and continuous turn knob receiver tuner. No whistlestop to set receiver to same frequency as transmitter so I had to ask for a long count. Tower would count one, two, three...eight, nine, ten while I found them on the receiver. On a trip to Dallas, Addison Tower wasn't one of my five channels. I called FSS and they told Tower what I had and then told me to use that. Orbits near the tower waiting for a green light worked well most places, but I was afraid of the big city.

Naomi, my signature box doesn't work any more. Email me at
[email protected] for Contact Flying Revised, Safe Maneuvering Flight Techniques, and some other stuff BCP guys have drawn up for me. Also I send Bob Reser's How to Fly Airplanes aerodynamics book with his permission. Good book and you will probably understand the math as well.
