Re: A rustic afternoon jaunt around the neighborhood - video

I was under the impression badgers are right up there with wolverines in viciousness, (I've had two different unprovoked attacks by them, and would put them up there with mountain lions and bears as far as not wanting one in my tent) and I'd like to know how many people have had one in their lap, and then lived to be 102!! GREAT picture =D>

Cool pic HC! 8) After one close encounter with a badger, that would be the last pet I would ever want to have. They are just down right mean when provoked. I agree, let's make a thread about old buildings. I'm sure I have a few to share.

Interesting video Zane. I wanna say something else, but I think I'm better off keeping my mouth shut :P

I'd love to see a history thread. Old buildings, old homes. Whenever I see an abandoned building or home I always wonder what happened? Why is no one there anymore. Especially since some of these buildings are in the most beautiful country you can find.

A lot of these old farmsteads, ranches, mining towns could no longer support a lifestyle....it takes more acres to support fewer people (or industry)..fewer people have to farm or ranch more area to support a family. A lot of these old places are just left to rot or they may be torn down so the farmland, ranchland can be used productively..same way with old rural school houses.

A follow up to the rustic jaunt video that I have appropriately named - Cow Patty Ranch. It was a nice day for some flying a shooting with the family. 8)

No comment about the hat, I'm already in enough trouble...

If you can wear a hat, why can't she, Matt?

Hope that was mud on your bushwheels.

How many cameras do you have on your plane, anyway?

Nice video. I hope you didn't lick your fingers after touching that paint in the house. It might have lead in it. :D We all know how toxic lead is.

That's a bold statement.

I guess i should have added the winky, as it was also said in jest. Another written word failure. I enjoyed the video.

This picture was taken of me in my best Red Ryder(only the old dogs on here know who that was)sweat shirt about 60 years ago in Colville, WA. My dad worked for the Forest Service and was out one day on a project and found a mother badger dead by the road side. He looked around and found several badger pups that each would fit in the palm of your hand. He brought one home, we bottle fed him and he imprinted on our family. He lived in and out of the house, was housebroken, and would lay on our feet under the table while we ate and waited to be hand fed. We would put him in a halter and take him on walks around town. He hated dogs and showed it. We would put him outside at night tied to the clothes line, and he would dig holes the whole time. My father felt he might not be so friendly after hibernation, so he went to a researcher type who had a place to keep them during hibernation. It was a sad day when he left.
Tom, I working on the 102.
