A Trip for August/Johnson Creek Idaho 2005

It seems to me that we have enough people that actually get out and do things that we would be able to put together a route or an itinerary that would comprise of a couple of weeks. Now, that's not to say that one would be expected to be along for the whole ride but could jump in for a couple of days or so and then head out. This is just and idea but I think one that may have some merit. You'll notice the new thread, I would love some input and ideas. I am not the most organized, so I would not pretend to steer this along. I just like throwing out ideas.

See? A good idea has already risen to the surface. This could cover some serious ground. Go JR!

Maybe we need to just put together a calendar of locations: where and when. Whoever wants to show and hang at those locations will know when we will be there. It will the BCP 2005 tour-- opinions are free but the t-shirt is $20.

Speaking of which... Haven't seen the final product and if they are available, didn't hear about it.

Gotta talk to Alyce about this. I know she wants to go but don't know when we can get away yet. May not be able to get out of here till Labor Day weekend. We can only get a week whenever we manage to do it. We'll also probably have to confine our flying to Idaho and Hells Canyon - gonna have to economize if we go.

The Cub guys are having a little fly-in at 3U2 the 19-21st of Aug. if ya'll want to crash their party.

O.K., August

Alyce and I have been talking about this and I think we're good to go for the week of August 13 - 21st. I have an ulterior motive for choosing this week, that being the Supercub fly-in at Johnson Creek the 19th-21st. I'd really like to meet some of those guys and gals.

We can't do Aug. 20th-28th because Alyce has to do payroll that week.

Hey Zane, SJ's thinkin' about going to Burning Man too.

Still sorry I missed you at Land's Inn. Hopefully we can make something work out for august.

I have a soft spot for any plane with a little wheel on the tail; Maules, Cubs, Pacers, Cruisers, Champs, Chiefs, Citabrias, Decathlons, RV's, Scouts, Stinsons, Swifts, 170's, 180's, Pitts, Sukhois, Yaks, Extras, Edges, Mustangs, Spitfires, Thunderbolts, Hellcats, Bearcats...

Speaking of Bearcats...

That's the proper attitude. Glad to hear you're not a fan of that other team.

No can do Zane, Alyce has to get payroll out that week and the week of the 10th, it's the only week that will work for us that month. I'd like to go on the week you're suggesting because the 24th is Alyce's birthday, but she's got to work that day. That's the best week for us in August, otherwise we have to wait till September. After we discussed this I thought I better get it up here quick to avoid any difficulty for others, it's only a month out.

On further consideration, maybe 'crash' isn't the appropriate choice of wording for horning in on the Cubbers fly-in.

I'll check with my better half to see if we can make it. That would be fun. Chelle is supposed to be gone for a week or so in Aug. so I need to see what happens. JC is the Hilton of back country strips! Just so damned hot. If she and the kids are gone, I will corrall a frind or two (I think I can find one)

Erin has me going to Minnesota aug 11-20, so it looks like i am out. I'm not sure how excited I am to take the 172 in there anyway. Though I would have loved to see the look on people's faces when I won the bushwheels and marched back to my 172 with them.

I am working on t-shirts though as we speak...trying to get a Maule version made. Then, off to the screen printer.

You could always fly in on Sunday Zane. Sounds like some of these folks want to stay up there for several days.
