Adventures on the Fly Episode 9: Oshkosh!

Well, we flew the 170 over 1,000 miles to Oshkosh and had a blast! It's too bad our show is only a 1/2 show right now - we had to cut so much great footage! Check it out here:

Allen thanks for all the wonderful things you said about Ben and Lori and their kids. We all had a lot of fun meeting you, Noreen and Stan.

I am terribly sorry that we missed you on the way back through, Tracy and I had planned on camping at the airport that night but the entire day had only 1 or 2 planes come through so by 6:15 or so we figured we would not see any more. Next year.

That was another great episode although this time I am a little biased. We were wondering what happened to the corn field footage?

Well I'm sure I'll be seeing you again at some strip somewhere. Tracy and I are going to be hitting the road, a few months here a few months there, around the western US. We'll be bringing the truck and camper and we will always have the C180.

Again a great show,

Marty

Marty - I'm sorry we missed you on the way back, too. We should have stayed the day at Luverne instead of fighting weather the whole day! We had a lot of footage that didn't make it into the show, and getting lost in the corn field at the airport was among that footage. It might show up in another episode...

I'm sorry we missed so many people at Oshkosh - it was crazy busy! We did get to meet a few BCP'ers, but I wish we had met more. We definitely need to stay for the whole week next year, and we should try to get our own "type" club camping area. Backcountry type.

It's so tough to do Oshkosh in just a couple of days. You should try for more time on site to enjoy it more...

Love the hat, too. Thanks!

Re: Adventures on the Fly Episode 9: Oshkosh!

Enjoyed the video. I stopped at Luverne going, but weather dictated a more southern route to return. I echo your comments--I'll stop at Luverne next year, too--LOVED the blueberry muffins!

Sounds like you arrived at a less busy time than some times when I've flown in. It can be pretty hectic enough at times that there will be 3 on final on both 36L & R, not to mention equal traffic on 27--and the occasional screw-up from someone failed to read and follow the NOTAM.

OSH is definitely a fun time. This year I arrived on Saturday and stayed through Sunday, leaving just before the airshow closed the field. Great vacation.
