Re: Air Camping

A few things I like to take is a ax, gun, fishing pole, camera , 4 man tent, cot, sleeping bag. Some 50/50 cord or rope. The all around blue tarp. Potatoes. Fire starters that work when wet. 5 gal. buckets to pack things in , then you have something to sit on and hold water in as well. Bug spray. Camp grill to set over the fire. Food depends on how long I will be out there. A small back pack, knife. Hip boots. That's about it unless I am out hunting. Oil for the plane, some tools. Patch kit.

Camping is a 2 man dome tent, high density foam pad and my Wiggy's sleeping bag. Camp chair is the 5 gal bucket I keep my gear in (also handy for hauling water ).

I use an old Colman Apex detached burner stove. So far never had a problem with it. But it's also kind of fragile and getting pretty beat up. I'll probably replace it soon.

I am an east coast C-150 pilot. I think the 150 is the right plane choice for me. I love the economy and it is great for just me. Anyways, its obviously not a backcountry bush plane. i do take it too many 2500 ft grass strips on hot and humid days. Does just fine. Any tips on if I ever go westward with it. Can i get into places like JC and places such as that?

Your C150 will do just fine in places like Johnson Creek.

Re: Air Camping

I'm looking at getting a Kindle, as it would be smaller and lighter then the paperbacks I usually take on an extended trip. However, I'm not sure how good they are for use as a fire starter.
