airplane ferry Minneapolis to Orlando

Hey guys,

I will come over from Germany and ferry a friends Cessna 172 from the Minneapolis area to Orlando.
Is there anybody along that route that might be interested in meeting for lunch or dinner?..:-)
And if somebody does have good recommendations where to stop for fuel, lunch or a night stop (or just a nice place to visit) I would be interested for sure!...

Most probably I will leave Minneapolis on Dec 27th headed south.

Thanks,

Flo

I'd be happy to have lunch with you at KLNR when you pass through.

Skyvector.com would be a good tool to use for basic planning. It shows your route going past Praire Du Chien (supposed to be a pretty view of the Mississippi), Peoria (you could tour Catepillar), Atlanta (lots of good night life), and Chattanooga (end of the Cumberland Plateau, interesting Civil War history in the area, nice downtown restaurants).

Airnav.com will help you with low fuel prices along your route.

My number one choice for a place to see is the National Museum of the US Air Force, "17 acres of indoor exhibit space", www.nationalmuseum.af.mil Walking as fast as you can would takes a couple of hours just to walk past everything, let alone stop and look. open 9 to 5 every day except Christmas, New Years and Thanksgiving. FREE. In Dayton OH, fly in to Green County, i19, Not sure about rental car. I have been there several time when I worked in the area. Regardless of where you stop, it should be a great trip that you will remember for a long time. Have fun.

Slightly up the pan handle, but the naval aviation museum in Pensacola is wicked awesome also.

I got my instrument rating while training out of KLNR (2 week cram course). Fog can be an issue there. Nice little café.

Fly the Lake Michigan shoreline around Chicago if you get a chance.

Yeah, that's a really good idea! Only a few miles out of the way and a beautiful view.

Met Florian and his crew when they passed through. Great people. Highly recommend meeting up with them if they pass through your area. They are starting in Kentucky today and continuing toward Florida.
