Like I told ex number one...
I can always sleep in the airplane, but you can't fly a house."

Hey svanarts, encourage him to join the forum! I am sure that will give him a boost!![]()
It is very important to compromise in a marriage. But the key word is "compromise". He just received a devesting blow by having his plane burn up. If his wife doesn't understand how important flying is to him, then he should sit down with her and have a heart-to-heart talk about it. Maybe the compromise is that she gets a little priority treatment now with the understanding that he gets to works towards getting another plane or maybe building one. Unless this guy has been ignoring his wife and being selfish, it is hard for me to believe that a couple in a good marriage can't work something out. If the marriage isn't good, then there are larger issues to deal with.
I really feel for the guy. I hope it works out.

He's trying really hard to keep his marriage intact. Fact is, not only is his wife stunningly beautiful, but she rebuilt an entire Corvette, motor and all, in high school. They met in auto shop. Unfortunately she has a huge ax to grind with the world. I think because her parents are both midgets. (I swear! You can't make this stuff up.) And they both have FULL SIZED attitudes. Angry midgets, the worst. I know, I know, don't call 'em midgets.
But in her defense, Chris had the 150, he has a hot rod he built up, he has a couple of cars in the garage that need to be finished and sold, he's a range marshall at the local shooting range, partners in his dad's construction business, and the list goes on. She's at home with their new kid and wants him home every know and then.
But yeah, I'm still going to encourage him to not give up flying.
