On New Years Day, while snowmobiling, I thought I saw an airstrip here about 25 miles SE of Alpine, WY. It was blowing snow and I did not have a chance to investigate. Anyone know anything about this?
Re what I saw.. There was a windsock (I think) and a square hangar like building but I was not in a position to actually see a runway. Maybe for Forest Service helicopters?
Didn’t find anything on first look on Google earth but the photo capture around here lags by even years. My house in Alpine shows up only as a concrete pad.
Best,
Tom

You talking up the Grays river? There’s a private strip in there along the river.

It takes a big man to cry. But it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.
Thanks for the info on this. A bit remote for a quick pickup of a Starbucks latte.
Best,
Tommy

Ben turned me on to a private strip along the west side of the highway, just on the south edge of Jackson Hole, with a good restaurant, a couple minutes walk away. I used it a couple times, but not since he died, I never did get permission from it's owner but was assured by Ben it would be OK. Now, who knows?
