Alaska 180

A few pics of 16D getting its new shoes and accessories! Flight through Canada was good with one weather day, temps -40 when arrival to FAI. Great friends made the trip a double success as it would have been lonely along with cold by myself.

added:

29" bushwheels
Airglass carbon fiber baggage
Firewall battery box
PPonk gearbox
Ancra cargo tiedowns
Donaldson filter

Looks really great :D Makes me think about my nose wheel

As long as we are spending your money, a nice three blad prop up front would look cool too!

I too really like the patroller doors! I have a '57 180 and would love to put these on my bird... anyone know if there is an STC for this or would it be a 337? Those are next to impossible to get here at the SLC FSDO.

Doesn't get better for an Alaska machine that can do plenty of work.... and plenty of fun.
Take care up there. Miss the wilderness and miles of empty.

Flying is dangerous. If you think otherwise, you are new at this sport. Mind the gravity not the gap.

Re: Alaska 180

I just noticed that you also added VG's. I'll be curious how that affects performance.

Nice looking plane. The P Ponk gear mod will give you great piece of mind. We added it 'after' a particularly nasty loop were the gearbox failed. Good move on your part.
