I think it is imperative that all SPA members sign this proxy right now, and throw out the current president. The organization has grown out of touch. Supposedly the Board fired the president on Sept 25, and he is refusing to step down and instead is trying to get rid of the board members that oppose him. I would also urge any current SPA members to log in to the forum on the SPA website and post this. It appears to be a well kept secret if true. It sounds like a real civil war is about to take place at SPA, and its time to pick sides. Russ

Wow!! I never realized I was making all that money, being the self appointed owner of SPA and all....

I have defended SPA back when SPA was actually doing something. They haven't been doing much of anything for a couple of years now.

So, maybe Wingnut has been right all along.

Uh, a minor point, however: Membership dues are $49 a year. There are something like 6,000 members last I heard, maybe a few more. I don't know what's wrong with my calculator, cause that doesn't come out to $500 K that I'm supposed to be receiving.....

Walter Windus is the current Chairman of the Board. Contrary to Wingnut's assertions, I have NEVER been on the Board or an officer of SPA. I do respect Walter, and I think he's trying to improve the organization. Unfortunately, the current E.D. isn't cooperating, and is apparently trying to replace the BOD.

If you are a current member, I suggest that you sign a proxy form and send it to Walter.

Bitching about an organization has never really helped make the organization a better outfit in my experience. Getting to know the Board and providing THEM with feedback MAY be productive. Not always, but....

M Volk's e-mails were so LudiChrist, I saved them for his presidential library.
Members have never had access to an expense accounting. there were more members then ?
So if there are other incomes from grants matching funds, Adds,members can't see that.
All I poated on SPA to start the flair up by MTV was this..
No SPA accounting of expenses, not even an interactive website for our dues.
Volk's e-mail to me was hostile , like a Royal Proclimation, Its my final decision, I'm no good at web work bla bla bla.
I told M Volk we were loosing an opportunity to share experiences with aging members who have much to offer.
Older guys were willing to post tech advice and pics showing or sharing experiences.

After a Simple Polite accounting question. MTV was the first to Flare up in our face,
saying "You can leave SPA with your Hate Campaign"

All these waisted years, and even a cheap interactive website like Skywagons was blocked for no reason.
Rob Duncan offered to build one cheap, his e-mails were not returned.
After I got attacked It got ugly, I said M Volk was a Flake .
Then I got threats from MTV of Legal liabilities for slander in a public forum .
