alternator belt squeals?
Have problems with your aircraft? Maybe just questions about how best to tune or adjust something? Regs or maintenance? Need to know the best way to do something?
My Cub seems to have developed a squealing alternator belt upon startup. It doesn't happen all the time, and sometimes it squeals longer than others. Any tips or suggestions on how to get rid of this annoying noise? The airplane starts reliably.

If tightening the belt hasn't worked, make sure it's not bottomed out in the pulley. You can't get it tight enough to fix that, time for a new belt.
