An LSA for a Tall Guy

Sometimes the most fun way to get into the backcountry, Part 103 Ultralights and Light Sport Aircraft have their own considerations.

Thanks. A Champ is definitely on my list of airplanes to try. Still in the "saving" phase...

Re: An LSA for a Tall Guy

Good afternoon mckim,
I have a 1940 Taylorcraft bc65 with it's original A65 engine that has had all the FAA approved A75 mods done to it. NOTHING was changed on it's data other than the horsepower.
With that longer than usual wing that has it's 23012 airfoil, I have taken off from T-27 (Horizon Airport) on a 107 degree, 7,000 foot density altitude day, at full gross, and rotated in under 500 feet, with the initial climb of a homesick Angel.
I am 6 foot 1 inch tall, and this is the FINEST airplane that I have ever had.

Good to know that it may still be a possibility. :)
