Anchorage Attorney Recomendations

I am looking for a lawyer in Anchorage to assist in setting up a business. Would like someone with expertise in business, tax, and, family law. Aviation experience would be an added bonus. Its hard to pick someone using only the internet so any good recommendations from BCP members are very much appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Anchorage Attorney Recomendations

It's been a lot of years since I was a USAF JAG there (I left in May 73), but I had several friends in the local bar. According to Martindale-Hubbell, the most common place to find listings of attorneys and how they're rated, all three of these guys are still in practice and rated well. They're all about my age, so they may be ready to retire or retired--M-H isn't always up to date. See Martindale.com I knew these guys pretty well. All had been USAF JAGs and had left the Air Force to practice in Anchorage.

L. Ames Luce. Limits practice to personal injury, but he might give you a good recommendation to someone who fits your needs.

Reginald J. (Jim) Christie Jr. Broad practice, includes most of what you're looking for.

Thomas P. Owens, Jr. I think he's restricting his practice to mediation, but again, he might be able to give you a good recommendation.

Anchorage has nearly 2000 attorneys listed in M-H, and there may be many who are not listed at all. So you'll be able to find someone who fits your needs, I'm sure. Good luck!

Re: Anchorage Attorney Recomendations

I ran into this guy who was a lawyer at Lake Hood

Image

He's got a big amphib and he's heard of this gravel road near my backwoods airstrip, so he's got to be a wingnut with a good memory at worst.

His name is and/or was John Pletcher
I'm not sure if he's in business any more or honest or anything but by the size of his plane I'd say he's successful, and he was fun to talk to. YMMV FWIW YOLO
