Anybody seen McCauley "A-20028 IDLER GOVERNOR GEAR
Lycoming, Continental, Hartzell, McCauley, or any broad spectrum drive system component used on multiple type.
Anybody seen or have a copy of ASB273, a McCauley document titled "A-20028 IDLER GOVERNOR GEAR BEARING INSPECTION INFORMATION"? It’s referenced now in a Cessna Service Letter SEL-61-01, and apparently applies to every McCauley governor unless excluded by the ASB273 document. Apparenly there’s a bad idler governor bearing that’s been put into service.

Sweet! Thanks! It appears to apply to governors overhauled or manufactured from Jan 2017 and Sep 2018.

I got that service letter a day or two ago,
it was very poorly written IMHO.
Took me a couple of read-throughs to figure out what they were dinging.
They should have made it clearer that it only applied if you have a McCauley governor--
mine's a Woodward so I'm OK (I think).

I was trying to think of something charitable to say about Cessna and their lawyers, but I gave up.
