I'll be back and forth a few times end of April and early May in a PA-22. Do you have a specific window of dates? I expect a trip westbound on either April 30, May 1, or May 2, whichever is the best weather window, but other trips the preceding and following weeks.

it'd be sweet to tag along anytime on the dates you said 30th 1st 2nd would be great depending on weather. should have my 296 by then but i just thought it would be a smart move to go with someone if i could being unfamiliar with the area. do u stop and get fuel in port alsworth or nondalton? I have about 31/2 hrs usable and cruise around 100mph. im guessing u head toward kenai and then cross the inlet and head into the pass. r u going all the way to ks? i'll prob be stopping in igiugig as my final destination.
thanks

I stop when I need a bladder break, have stopped in Port Alsworth, Nondalton, and Iliamna different times. My cruise speed is anywhere from 90 to 105, so that will work well. Couple of ways to approach the trip down Cook Inlet, I usually cross right at Point Mackenzie and then follow the shore down. Keeps you farther from Turnagain Arm, which can have nasty winds, and you don't need as much a ceiling for a safe crossing. Of course, with a T-crate, you can probably make a safe crossing at a lot lower altitude, but I need 4500 feet or more to have a reasonable safety profile for crossing the inlet at the Kenai Forelands, so I generally do that when I'm intending to go somewhere on the peninsula but not when I can just cross near ANC and be done with it. But if the weather is great and you'd prefer that route, we can certainly do that. I'm happy to take a break in Igiugig to debrief at the end if that is helpful as well.
