Are all Cessna seat rails mounted the same

Have you modified your aircraft? STC? STOL Kit? Major rebuild from just a data plate?

Are all Cessna seat rails mounted the same

I have a 1966 182 and looking to replace the seats with some from a 1976 210. Does anyone know if the seat tracks are the same width apart?

You’re putting used Seat tracks from a 206 into a 182?!? Odds of the holes lining up are highly unlikely...

Width of the seat tracks should be matched to the width of the seat being used on said tracks...

Is this some kind of experimental?

He’s asking if seat rails are the same distance apart because he wants to know if 1976 210 seats will fit in a 1966 182.

I’m not sure, but I would guess they are. People use seats from different years and models of Cessna all the time. I had 62 182 seats in my old 170. And that’s going from a plane with a 44” cabin to a plane with a 40” cabin, but the seats were interchangeable. The only issue you might run into is some of the later model Cessnas had locking pins that went into left and right side rails. If you don’t have the holes on the right rail you would have to replace it with a new rail with the holes.

Good question Mantoga. I'm VERY interested as we'll probably be selling T210N in spring and buying something backcountry. Retired. 170B is on short list; but, wife and I (she's pilot and 8" shorter) both use 210 seat tilt back and height adjustment every flight as we take turns at PIC. We can reuse seat frame and change upholstery to fit narrower 170. Whatever BC plane we get will be side by side and rear seats will come out anyway.

Many cessna 100 series seats have the tilt/height adjustments, no need to spring for 210 for that reason alone. If you were to purchase a 170 or other cessna with nonadjustable seats, many people on this forum may be interested in trading you their adjustable (heavier) seats for them.

Some good info and pictures of various styles: http://bushwagoneast.com/category/seats/

I’m pretty sure that all single engine Cessnas except the Caravan and maybe the Corvallis use the same rails and spacing between.

Re: Are all Cessna seat rails mounted the same

My reason for wanting a seat of 210 seats is due to the fact I’m 6’6” and the 1966 seats are somewhat short in the back, plus you can infinitely adjust the he seat rake
