Has anybody done their ATP outside of the 121 world?
Going for mine on Friday in the family's trusty Geronimo, looking for any advice on the oral. Examining the PTS leads me to believe it will mostly focus on systems, any advice is most appreciated.
Ride will be done out of KBLI.

I did mine through All ATPs. All ATP was a joke of an operation, but they trained for the checkride and it was as scripted. From what I recall of the oral, it was mostly system related.

Yeah, pretty simple. Know your systems, and fly tight under the hood, and it's a non-event.

I did a type rating at the same time with an FAA examiner. 100% aircraft related, mostly systems with some performance and weight and balance thrown in. Oh yeah, and the usual airplane documents. Most FAA types don't get to fly much, give him a landing when you are almost done. By the time you get there you will be ready, it's not any tougher than your instrument rating even with the tighter minimums.

Mine was a several years ago, with the FAA. Essentially just a detailed instrument ride, very little oral. Good luck, let us know how it goes.

Halestorm,
Hope this went well for you. I'd love to hear a report if you're willing.

Checkride canceled due to HSI going tits up, bad timing. Compass card still works just no NAV display, pretty hard to do an ATP ride on a single VOR and DME (that's all that's left functioning).
Dropped off the unit in Seattle this morning for repair, back in ANC now for a few weeks work and reschedule hopefully.

Finally got this checkride done just over a week ago, whew! Oral was mostly (85%) systems and some misc reg questions, easy money. Flight portion was 2.5 hours in the air, needed to get to an airport with a non-precision approach, and was very much IAW the PTS.
Great feeling gettin'er dun, now on to bigger and better things!
