Austin, Nevada Fly-in and Lions Club B-BQ August 22

Austin Nevada (9U3) Fly-in and Lions Club "All You Can Eat" Bar B-Q ($10.00)

August 22, 2009

Bar-BQ starts at about noon, and depending on when/where the interest is, we'll have some pilot games (spot landing, short takeoff and land, flour drop etc.) in the afternoon and probably well into the evening.

Coco, the skydiving gorilla has announced that he will be making his infamous death defying leap again this year, and rumor has it that several of his offspring may be participating in the flour/monkey drop.

Camping and water available on the field or transportation will be available to three motels in Austin:
Lincoln Motel 775-964-2698
Pony Canyon Motel 775-964-2605
Mountain Motel 775-964-1433

Bonfire on Fri. and Sat. Night with some serious Hangar/Ramp flyin an lyin....

Our new Self Serve Fuel is still not installed, and were not expecting it by this years fly-in, but there will be auto gas available on a limited basis for those in dire need...

New AWOS Freq. 132.925.

For any questions, contact Joe Dory at 775-223-3613 Cell or 775-964-2410 Home, or [email protected].

While aviation has made the world a smaller place, if you fall, it's still hard to miss!

Re: Austin, Nevada Fly-in and Lions Club B-BQ August 22

Joe,

Thanks to you and the Austin Lions Club, the Austin Fly-in is one to remember. All of the townfolk and attendees made me feel right at home. Bar none, this event was the most friendly one I have attended. The Sat evening "Austin City Limits" gang was a hoot. Despite the rain event, and it was an event, the trip back to High Valley through WMC was uneventful.

THANKS AGAIN,
Al

Hey Pops
Got home about 5 today. Stayed in Eureka for a couple hours waiting for things to improve. Still had to pick my way home, but a good flight. Had a great time at your flyin, and met some great people. John and Vincey at the Eureka FBO were also incredibly nice.
Thanks for evrything. Gary :D =D> =D> =D> =D>

Glad you made it home safely, Gary!!

The Caldwell gang made home safe too!! Got out of Austin just before another down pour!! We stop in Battle Mt. for fuel with just a sprinkle of rain and then the rest of the flight home was great.
