Bad trim/rudder position indicator

Anyone found a good replacement for the Ray Allen trim/rudder position indicator? Every airplane (4 different ones) that I have owned that has had the Ray Allen indicators for the elevator and/or rudder trim, has either one or several bad indicator lights. My recently purchased RV-8, the rudder trim indicator was intermittent until yesterdays flight where it went out completely. A slight tap would occasionally make it work, but it is no longer working at all. I recall years ago taking one apart to see if I could find the loose/broken item, but I am thinking it was potted and not able to be repaired.

Plane just turned over 200TT and another plane I had several years ago was under 100TT when it's indicators quit.
Replacements are around $200.

I am wondering if anyone here has found a suitable replacement that has better long term reliability.

Re: Bad trim/rudder position indicator

No personal experience, but if the unit is tango uniform, it mght not hurt to take a peak inside. Potting compound is pretty expensive these days and I’ve seen hot glue substituted for vibration dampening. That’s fairly removeable. Good luck!
