Nice. Thanks for posting. Every time we drive by there I think about stopping and walking around...after I'm already past the exit. It doesn't look dirty.

I've only been into Bandera once- very pretty little strip, but the constant drone of traffic on adjacent I-90 really detracted from the "wilderness" experience.
Skykomish state airstrip is off the next east/west highway north of there, hwy 2 which goes over Stevens Pass. A much quieter place. I've camped there a few times.
Used to be a airport caretaker there, Aaron, who would usually come out with his little dog and visit with drop-ins. He passed away several years ago, dunno if there's a caretaker there now or not.
