BCP Support

With Covid and politics drowning out all of our lives, the little things have been slipping thru the cracks in my life... this AM I just realized that I haven't donated to BCP in a while.

Perhaps this might be a little reminder to other folks as well. The site still takes lots of time for Zane to manage and he has kept an even keel keeping this little oasis sunny for a quick escape now and then.

I urge you all to take a quick second and renew your yearly contribution.

Thanks!

Greg-

Thanks for posting Greg.
I like to do my every-year donating at the first of the year.

Re: BCP Support

Ha! Thanks Greg for the thought and for renewing support. I know with seeing new advertisers popping up, it seems like BCP is going gangbusters, but what's rarely noticed is when past partners decide to go another direction with their marketing. I don't announce that.

Covid has been rough on the BCP content stream as some of you may have noticed. Trying to keep my regular job with young kids biting my ankles. I do feel fortunate as some others have not been so lucky to keep working.

This month I'm excited to have some new stuff in the hopper, and I'll happily use support money to pay for more authors. I think maybe the prestige is more valuable than the actually paycheck ($75) but hey, it's some gas in the tank.

Anyone who wants to donate has some options, the easiest is probably the BCP store (no Paypal required):

https://store.backcountrypilot.org/donate

I have Paypal subscription plans that charge monthly or annually too. You can cancel at any time.

Annually: https://py.pl/7M6YR

Monthly: https://py.pl/26rHfB

Thank you.

Kurt — We just moved out of Oregon as of last week, and don't have a PO box setup yet. I'll email you. Thanks.

Re: BCP Support

Thanks for the reminder Greg! Where've you been? Haven't seen many post from you lately.

I'll bump this back to the top for those like me. I saw this yesterday and meant to act on it... then I was doing some work in my hangar (and by work I mean I fell asleep in the recliner)..... by this morning when I was sipping my coffee and catching up on BCP, this had moved way down the page. I almost forgot!

Anyway, Z you almost slipped that move by us. Reno? Any float plane lakes there? Curious minds .......

Hope everyone is Covid free and here's to a better 2021.

Happy Flying

Thanks Keith, got your donation. Much appreciated.

We sold our home in Oregon. Currently staying with the wife's family in Reno while we shop for property somewhere in North America. I'm living out of a cargo trailer. 8)

Re: BCP Support

After my first month on BCP, I opted to set up a recurring "subscription" using Zane's PayPal option. It reminds me every month that I've just paid my dues so that I could - in theory - unsubscribe by stopping those recurring payments.

But why would I want to unsubscribe? The ratio of "good people" to "jerks" is very good. I find that I spend more time on this forum than anything else on the 'net, and get about 10X the value in knowledge versus cost. And probably 100X in "opinion" versus cost...

Just don't ever, for your wallet's sake, ask the question "What upgrades should I do to my airplane?" Trust me, you can't afford the answers you'll get! LOL

Absolutely, without question the BCP site and the entire BCP community is head and shoulders above all else with Zzz's efforts leading the way.

I think AK is barely still on the table. I've accomplished a lot by convincing the wife to leave the suburbs, but I think AK might be a bridge too far with the short winter days. #-o

Thanks for your support over the years, Joe.

As I recall, you work in the IT industry--
aka "doing computer shit" to us cavemen.
Other than during this covid thing, can you work remotely?
If so, you could live anywhere that you have enough connectivity, eh?
I would think that leaves your options pretty wide open.
Of course, sometimes too many choices is worse than too few.

Yes, been working remote for 17 years, and it's great. The covid thing suddenly released a bunch more remote workers upon the world and now rural property prices are soaring. I'm afraid when Starlink hits mainstream it'll get even worse.

Our decision was made well over a year ago, now suddenly there's competition, damn it!

I'm excited though to raise my daughters in the sticks how I was raised and be free of the congestion of the burbs...finally.
