Re: Bellows AFB, Hawaii

We almost stayed there a couple of years ago. Stayed at the Hale Koa instead. That was a nice hotel but we could do without Waikiki around us all day, every day.

We'll stay at Bellows next time we hit the islands. Seems absolutely beautiful and peaceful.

Bellows is great. Barking Sands has a few cottages as well on Kauai that are Primo.

Re: Bellows AFB, Hawaii

Kauai was our favorite island. They all had great things to offer (I think the volcano tour on the big island was our trip highlight), but Kauai wins in my book for its pure rural beauty and peacefulness. We stayed in a B&B there.

I'll DEFINITELY check Barking Sands out for the future!

Barking Sands is wonderful. Fly in and spend the weekend. My next door neighbor used to fly his Saratoga there with his (drinking) buddies and would stay at a cabin.

We have sailed to Hanalei Bay, the visibility underwater was 300'! Done many flights to Port Allen. But, over the last 20 years Kauai is getting to become a traffic jam too.

I saw Harrison Ford at the fuel pump at Lihue one day. He was flying a red bi-plane. And John Travolta would bring his 707 over with about 30 friends to Lihue to party ( somehow he never invited me ) .
