Still trying to track down the price of a kit including 3 6" wheels, certainly I'll be very disappointed in the price. Going to email a couple dealers just to be sure.

Cool stuff, I'm sure it's pricey but it looks like the STC kits replace the entire brake hydraulic system plus the axle. Any idea what the weight difference is?

They claim the total weight of the kit is 25Lbs. My hunch is that's very close in weight to the parts to be removed.

I'm thinking the increase in sexy factor makes up for the lack of weight savings...

I had no idea they make aviation products too. They don't seem to skimp when it comes to design and production.

After some emails back and forth I’ve come up with this for the 182 kit:

STC-022.1 with fairings - $4,420.00

STC-022.2 without fairings - $4,147.00

The kit does not come with wheel fairings, just that if you have them or not on your aircraft you need the right kit.

However, and this is a big however for me, the kit only provides a 5” inch nose wheel. It would take them developing a different axle to be able to use one of their 6” wheels.

Would it look unacceptably funny to still be running a 6” Cleveland nose wheel with 6” berringer mains? I dunno…

I've got Beringer on my Lancair, love them, cut my stopping distance in half. Really want them on my 170 but no STC for the 170. However, I have 180 gear installed on the plane. So.....field approval? Looking for input. thanks everyone.

Is there an STC for the 180?

Yeah that's the rub. The STC is for the type, which is a 170. But I have 180 gear. So the STC doesn't apply, that's cut and dry. But since I have 180 gear could I get field approval, and has anyone done it?
