Bought a Carbon Cub!

I was tired of being the slowest one in the group all the time and being around all these fancy planes so said to heck with it and bought a Carbon Cub!!

And then some giant came along and snatched away my dream!!

Hope I got some of your attention :^o I bought this remote control Carbon Cub. It has a 2ft wingspan, lights, and full functional flaps. It will have bushwheels on it as soon as they arrive!! It actually flies really well for all that it is. I get about 10 minutes on a battery pack. Hey a guy can dream right?

That's cool. My kid can fly the hell out of those things. Where'd you get it if you don't mind saying.

Ha ha! Good one. Had me going there. So, what you're saying is, it's about the same size as your Avid?!

You can get this one off Amazon or most big Hobby shops. It's $169 and you need to already have a radio.

I would purchase the 3 gram gross weight incease STC. It works great.

Good one, Joey!

How much longer are you in the sandbox for? Missed seeing you at JC this year. Lots of fires in Idaho and Oregon now!

Had me there, Joey . . . 'till I noticed the spindly AOSS gear.

A friend just got a new one a week ago. Some of the "stuff" on the CC is really quite impressive, machined billet fittings etc. Not sure if he went S-LSA or E-LSA , but in any case, two-up with baggage and staying legal won't be easy.

Re: Bought a Carbon Cub!

Funny I have the same N #! Haha. I been flying mine about a month now and I love it!

I went with the 31's. (they are the 1 1/2" mini lites). I had to do a new w/b though. Also, had to trim it out a good bit for the added weight. I changed to the top hole on the trim tab on the elevator adjustment. Worked perfect.

The damage to the nose was the result of a takeoff with full flaps and subsequent full power stall and nose dive into the pavement. Smashed the ol girl up pretty bad and sheared the prop from the shaft. I re attached it by boring a longer screw through the prop into the shaft. I only had electrical tape with me at the time and got the job done. Hard on the paint tho. When I put the BW on, the weight was too much. Scotch tape is the way to go. Light weight!

I was a little bit TOO optimistic with the DHC-2 sized. But u can see the stock wheels in comparison.

Re: Bought a Carbon Cub!

Got my bushwheels on mine today! I used the mains off a T-28 and did a little modding to use the stock size wheel. It's actually functional! Thing kept flipping over on it's nose before anytime I landed in the sand. Now it'll roll out. I was having a blast today leaving little tracks in the sand doing touch and goes in the wind.

Now were talking...Everything looks better with Bushwheels...Even RC's!

I have an approved extension that bolts on to the transmitter that allows you to reach the flap switch without moving your wrist...

You had me going too!

That's pretty sweet. Hopefully that will satisfy your flying fix a little bit.
