Brian- Steve's Aircraft gascolator

Have you modified your aircraft? STC? STOL Kit? Major rebuild from just a data plate?

Brian- Steve's Aircraft gascolator

Received my Steve's Aircraft gascolator, I haven't installed it yet but I have little doubts there will be any installation issues. First rate quality!
$280.00 complete!!
Cessna wanted $300.00 just for the glass on my gascolator. It has been dropped and not positioned properly before tightening over the years, chipping the edges of the glass. I always worried about having to over torque it to seal it up.
And the fact that a glass bowl containing fuel, fastened on with something that looked like it came off an old tractor was hanging low and vulnerable.
I'm not knocking it, it lasted 50 years..........Just a plug for Steve's Aircraft and a better built gascolator.

Re: Brian- Steve's Aircraft gascolator

Bought mine 3 years ago and din't realize it was Brian's company until a few months back. Superb quality! The cotter pin/bowl design is the way it should have been designed in the 1930's, on tractors, where my old one came from.

You know there are some mumblings about old-school gascolators being the cause of many fuel exhaustion accidents?? I'll eliminate that from my mind for $280 any day.

Re: Brian- Steve's Aircraft gascolator

I was freaked out by the glass gascolator on my 57' 182 also. I couldn't believe how tight the bolt had to be to get it to stop seeping fuel from around the top seal. It's hard to believe that there are no AD's on those! I ordered the SA3-10-A for the peace of mind. Should arrive tomorrow! :D

The dudes at Steve's are as good as they come in this industry. You ought to buy an oil cooler while you're at it. :)

A Steve's gascolator and BAS harnesses were the first mods I made to my 180. It's been happily gascolating for the last 5 years. =D> Steve and Brian rock!

Re: Brian- Steve's Aircraft gascolator

Add to the good comments: When I wanted to replace my glass tractor bowl with a Steve's some years ago, we discovered that my airplane was not on their STC AML. Instead of having to go the field approval route, Steve's went the extra mile and had my airplane added to their AML! Now that's service! And the gascolator is great, too.

Re: Brian- Steve's Aircraft gascolator

I love their products so much I own a brand new gascolator and don't even own an airplane!

Okay actually I bought it for the Stinson I owned, when I sold it the new owner wanted to keep the original gascolator and didn't want this nice one I have in a box!
