I'm only suggesting that we all should be aware of the potential implications of our decision. Trespassing on public lands generally elicits a financial penalty.

“Trespassing on public lands”? Give that sentence some thought.

X2

The Sluice Creek one pisses me off even more, I have camped many nights at that one. Why, there is no good reason to close that strip!

But don't get me started, I was the one that was cited for landing at Vines and camping. Court case was eventually dropped!

Pilots don't find out these places are closing/closed until it is to late.

The Hanford Nuclear Reservation, White Sands Missile Range, China Lake Naval Air Weapons Station, the White House, etc are all located on public lands. But, I suspect that you would be, at the very least, subject to a trespass violation if you were found on any of this properties. [-X

For some reason I don't get warm fuzzy feelings from you posts Windknot54, maybe you are just trying to educate but it almost seems like you work for the BLM etc.

I'm sorry that you feel that way. I absolutely have never worked for any government agency. But I do regularly coordinate with them to try and accomplish the objectives of the RAF. I just want folks to understand the situation and hope we can find an acceptable way forward.

I apologize if my posts have offended anyone

The term 'public land' refers to public ownership, not necessarily public access.

Yep, I’m with you on those locations. Security reasons, makes sense to almost everyone.
It’s a bummer we are caving.

How did we go from potential repercussions from landing on an old airstrip, that, is vaguely mentioned in a 25 year old document, but has seen thousands of landings since said document, with no one recalling any enforcement actions in those 25 years, to landing at the White House, or at a military weapons station ?

It’s in the best shape I’ve ever seen it. Was out there today. Nothing like a good burn over to clean the place up.
