Re: Buying a Amature Built in the Middle of Phase 1 Testing

Figure getting the CD was a good idea. Ordered it but it said the paperwork wasn't in digital form yet and it may take an additional 8 weeks. Deal will hopefully be done by the time 8 weeks go by but I ordered it anyways.

The CD arrived the other day, I thought for sure it would take much longer. Flight test area is 30nm radius around the current airport, pretty small area with only 1 other public airport.

Have put 3 more hours on the plane and things are looking good.

So with the agreement made & the handshake accomplished, is it a done deal that you can talk about or is it still an on-going covert operation?
Either way, Whee, please go back to the first post and correct the thread title-- the mis-spelling makes me crazy every time I look at it. "Amateur" would be correct, but at this point I'll even take "armature". [-o<

Haha sorry bout that. I'm a horrible speller and using tapatalk makes it ten times worse.

Still a covert operation.

Flying is dangerous. If you think otherwise, you are new at this sport. Mind the gravity not the gap.

Re: Buying a Amateur Built in the Middle of Phase 1 Testing

Still chipping away at the 40 hours; have about 15 left to go. Really having a good time flying the plane and getting to know it. Still don't have the STOL takeoff figured out, I can beat it by at least 200ft in my Luscombe every time, but my landings are getting much better. It is easy to get this thing stopped in under 800ft and I usually burn 500ft of runway. Really a well behaved airplane. Have made a few minor changes that brought the speed up closer to what it should be. Will make a few more adjustments after I (hopefully) purchase the plane. Getting frustrated with trying to sell the Luscombe and am beginning to wonder if it will ever sell. I hope it sells soon so I don't miss out on this deal.

I hope it sells soon! Always sad to see the old workhorse go, mind you.
Glad to hear you're finding the new machine it well behaved. Hopefully the flap handle is in easy enough reach for you, for when the STOL takeoffs start to come together. =D>
Some like to pull the first notch into reach before rolling, but I'm sure you've got it figured out already!

Phase 1 done!!! Performance woes all sorted out, now I just need to buy the dang thing. Between my dad and I we flew over 11 hours in less than 24hrs. I'm exhausted.
