C-185f headliner cost
Have problems with your aircraft? Maybe just questions about how best to tune or adjust something? Regs or maintenance? Need to know the best way to do something?
Hi,
I find myself in need of a new headliner for my C-A185f.
Just wondering what labor should run.

Can't tell you a very accurate figure but I can say from experience helping install a few soft headliners over the years that it's a tricky job. There's toothed aluminum retainers that are riveted on as part of the window installation. If those are screwed up they be really difficult to find replacements for.
I guess for me it's not about the price so much as finding someone who can actually do it. Nothing worse than a saggy wrinkled headliner.

Thank you,
I agree. I actually haven't seen it. The wings were removed and it was transported to a FBO 50 miles away after a taxiing prop strike.
My mechanic said it got a bit messed up during the wing removal. He has been busy with getting engine removed and crated to send to Western Skyways.
Hopefully will get up there next week to have a looksee.

I know this isn't really the question you asked...buuuuut. I recently replaced the headliner in my 185. Bought it from Generation Global, company that does interiors down in New Zealand. I don't like the vinyl and/or the wool really, then I found these guys while deep in an internet rabbit hole; figured I'd give it a shot. Really nice quality and reasonably priced. I installed myself with another set of hands. The channels above the doors are painfully thin and are made from unobtainiom...be careful with them. They are pretty easy to remove and refinish while you're at it. On the same note, the wire forms that hold the headliner up are about impossible to find too. Wouldn't be THAT hard to fabricate your own but will add some time for sure. Total install took the better part of a day but as I said, no real magic. Just patience.
Good luck.

The biggest issue with headliner installation is patience. Installation is not rocket science. I've done two, so if you know me, it's not that hard.
Time consuming, frustrating, yes.
I did one in vinyl the other in wool. I would NEVER do another in vinyl. The wool was really pretty easy. The big difference is getting the wrinkles out of them. Wool you just use a spray bottle with water, and a hair dryer.
