Re: C185 equipment list

I have a WPD file equipment list for my 77 185F that I carry a copy in the plane. That way when I switch to and from floats skis whatever I can just print a fresh copy and put it in the book. I do have the original but am several thousand miles away from it. I don't think the original listed any skis on it.

It just has airglas LW3600 and burl tail ski information. I can email if it would help?

Ya an email would be great. delta tango ltd @ gmail.com.
I've been told that the original equipment list has ski information on it, which is why whipaire doesn't require an STC for 185s. I have a customer with different skis and we are just trying to figure out all the paperwork.

Thanks!

Re: C185 equipment list

The 1985 C-185 Pilot Operating Handbook has a skiplane supplement. That supplement lists the Fluidyne Model C3200 or C3600 retractable wheel skis as approved on the C-185, as well as the FluiDyne Model A3500A wheel replacement skis on the main gears. These approvals also require installation of tail skis, either CT3200 or CT3600 tail skis.

All the FluiDyne ski certificates are owned by Wipaire now. The POH supplement doesn't list any other skis. I imagine that you may need to acquire a copy of the flight manual supplement if those skis are installed. I'd order a 1985 POH, which has all the supplements integrated.

Re: C185 equipment list

In addition the A185F models (those are the 1973 and newer 185's) require the rudder centering springs and the aileron rudder interconnect which are included as part of the ski or float kit, plus a locking tail wheel with the C3200, C3600, and A3500A skis. This information is included in the equipment list plus the installation instructions. Prior model 185's do not require the ski or float kt but do, I believe, require the locking tail wheel. Other manufacture's skis do not require either the springs, interconnect, or the lock. A1skinner, I have access to the equipment list for a 1977 model A185F and when I get a chance will scan and send to Zane to be included in the data base. When you order the ski supplement you will want to order the specific one for the year 185 you are installing the skis on.

Re: C185 equipment list

Sorry to beat the same old drum... We have the C180 equipment list in the KB. If anyone wants to send a C185 version, any year(s), you know the email. 8)
