I was at Johnson Creek yesterday. They told me they were there for another three weeks. Then back to arkansas.

I was wondering same thing for Smiley Creek. The webcam shows watering and mowing so someone is still there. I will camp there Tuesday pm until Friday am then Hood River fly-in Friday pm to Sunday am. Hope to see some BCP’ers here or there.

Greetings from Hood River fly-in! As of this week just after Labor Day, no Smiley caretaker and there is a sign on door reading “see you in 2020”. No car available but shower and restrooms are open and stocked with paper. Spoke with Johnson Creek caretaker who will be working airport until about September 14 then wrapping it up for the year.

Having never been to any of these strips, what does it take to become a "caretaker"??
