Greg, sorry I was to hungover to give you a ride. Blu's plane is more impressive, until it's time to haul the kitchen sink.

I'm not quite sure yet. I had it on and felt it wouldn't develop enough rpms on take off. I had it repitched and now it raps out more and is 15 mph slower but doesn't seem to climb much better. :?

so i'm not sure what the next step is

Hmmmm.... Did you buy it straight from Craig? Chat with him, or if you have no luck I can give him a call.

Re: Caveman Fly In 2012

I'll find a reason to make it back out to Orygun soon, perhaps I can get a rain check. I'll even bring some bourbon for the afterparty. I would really fancy a ride in a maule - haven't had one yet. I also want to make it down to the RV store to look at the Vans. Can you put tundra tires on an RV8? ;-)

Toodles...

'Greg

Re: Caveman Fly In 2012

When the RV guys are talking about oversized tires, I think they mean 8.00s.

Here's the discussion on the Vans forum, including the photoshopped picture of 31" ABWs on an RV-8 (post #21).

Nice pics Brent, that's pretty cool you found some slick rock to land on! I haven't seen anyone do that before.

Re: Caveman Fly In 2012

I enjoyed the stuff you posted also Rob. Your camping spot in NV looked awesome!

For some reason, I had it in my head that I wanted to find a place to land on the slick rock. Kind of difficult because there usually are so many little crevasse's, for lack of a better term. That spot was right below kegg knoll and we landed it as you were departing the knoll. More or less landed on a jeep trail.

My wife and kids could not join me this trip, but my cousin Pete came along and we had a blast. Thanks for the good time and the photos Pete!

Great shots, Cousin Pete! We rarely see those cool, artsy compositions around here. Much appreciated. Crazy how much curvature there is to a Pacer fuselage from that angle.

Who's the other 170 furthest away?
