That's reasonable. I was thinking of making a mold if they were much more than that. Maybe $1.00 of cast rubber in each pair.

The online sites seemed to be 300-450 each new and 80 or so used.

Re: Cessna 180 landing gear seal

I am looking for a set of the 0713018-3 seals. Any affordable supplier at this time?

Re: Cessna 180 landing gear seal

I had the same thought.
Looked in an old(er) 180/185 Club newsletter, he had gear seals listed for sale.
"Two sets" but the ad ran for quite a while. ??

Re: Cessna 180 landing gear seal

Crazy question but, what do these seals do and would they be worth considering on a 170?

They say they keep exhaust gases from getting all up in ya girl's junk and casuing corrosion. Also provide a more finished look.

Re: Cessna 180 landing gear seal

170's have a seal, it is made different than the molded seal used on a 180/185, it is a flat piece of rubber which fits under the cover and tightly around the gear leg. Works well and much simpler than the 180/185 seal. Easy to make.

Neither of my 170's had that which is what made me ask the question. They only had the aluminum trim plate.

Good to know. I have some rubber sheet that I can make those up easy enough.

When 180/5's are on floats with the porkchops coming out of the gearboxes, how many have you seen with seals?

Re: Cessna 180 landing gear seal

I just went onto stene's website fully expecting to find a cuff. No luck. I wonder if this would be something worth suggesting to them. Granted, I guess there could be issues with a cuff around the fairly flexible gear leg.

I'd much rather spend the money on a cuff from them then any of the over priced Cessna parts.

Snider speed kit looks like what you want. Pull the wheel pants and add 29 Bushwheels and it'd look pretty cool!!!!

Re: Cessna 180 landing gear seal

Talked to Buzz Landry and he will supply silicon molded owner manufactured seals for $60.00 a set shipped. I wrote the check and it was in the mailbox. Pretty good deal.

I found and am now in possession of an oem set for $50.00. Found several others for $50.00-$60.00 each. May buy them up while still around. Could always trade for something.

The trim parts are hard to find. Have a set of new strut seals and have one oem rams horn yoke emblem. Am trying to locate another, but will likely design a nicer custom version for my plane.

Thanks for the help.

Re: Cessna 180 landing gear seal

Putting the 180 back onto wheels and my Landing Gear Fillets are of course missing - the metal covers that cover the gear entry.

Does anyone know where to get these made for a reasonable cost?? I know that you can make them out of aluminum but they will lose the curves
